July CAREGiver of the Month - Ella
1.
Why did yo decide to be a caregiver with Home Instead Senior Care?
I do
believe in the mission of the company and by working in line with it gives me
more than just a job but a fulfillment just to see those seniors appreciates
their lives more because they have someone with them to assist and still do
their part in their day to day living.
2.
What is the most memorable or happiest moment with the client?
A
simple "THANK YOU" from a client is more than enough for me, but when
a client did some effort to show how grateful she is for a couple of hours that
I have to spend with her once a week it is overwhelming.
I am
referring to Mrs Yeo because she did write a thank you letter for me last
Valentines day with a chocolate. In addition, she even made an art stuff for
St. Patrick's Day and handed it to me. Those little gesture means so
much.
Lastly,
from the fact that she is always looking forward to that single day of the week
that we will meet is really heart warming.
3.
Do you have a word of advice for our new caregivers?
Just
don't do the job because you needed it, it will burn you out; but, instead do
the job because you enjoy and love dealing with people especially the seniors
and you'll sleep every night with a happy heart and face. And please do deal
with them with respect and dignity as well. In addition, pack yourself a bag
with full of patience every day.
